Sorts of arts And crafts as well as sporting fields to even movies to bonfire with smores they have many different types of cottages as well as what they call apartments really like a hotel but better like a Embassy suites or hotel efficiency apartment I really love the place as well as the staff and the visitors make it even better new friends that missed me the end of their summer sorry everyone. I will be back just had other things to do. Great restaurants and yes a few museums to include one at the lighthouse there at Solomons island practically walking distance if you do not mind the walk from the site. I like the camp center better then the navy base near by less mosquitoes here I was not bothered by the bugs like I was on the navy base both are great but this place is just rec no shopping only recreational use and worms
I love this place. I can get to my Drs appointments faster if I stay here yes the drive to D.C. And the Traffic is better for me to stay here then to drive home I am on a military base close to everything able to go swimming play mini golf aka put put there is a driving range yes you can rent a bike or a boat here. Ok you have to go to the boat house in the marina for that but it's not busy call to reserve I know they are not over booked especially now the prices are cheaper now is off season I think. But check anyway. Worms can be bought at the MWR boat rental shop at the marina you can fish on the pier party's can be booked for pavilions or groups including Boy Scout use the camping sites there are a few playgrounds and yes a gym and pool beach as well. Cabins cottages RV and tents all can be rented check on a RV rental i know you can rent the lot for a RV. I know tents can be rented all equipment you need for camping they have here at the rec center it's a wonderful place for military family's to come to of your family or others over age they will need to do paperwork to come here it's not like other bases you can not just escort on this rec center they must have paperwork done allow time please. About a week have them wet sign paperwork you can download online. This is my home away from Home. I have tried several different things here found it threw the great navy camp out. The facility is clean ok road noise pod tue facility is more then I am use to but the facility is quite easy to use and friendly they have activities all

Leave everything for you at the guard post I was coming back from my family's home near Canada long drive and I had to call to use this I was so half they really do everything to meet our every need.
This is open all year in the cabins and camper cabins there is electric camper cabins are basic only two rooms and not kitchen but you have more then enough room to sleep 6 in the camper cabin. The bed room with bunks I was surprised can be darkened a lot just by closing the curtains so little kids can nap or if you want a nap with low lights it's really good for its use. Please do tell them I sent you I love this place so will you. Oh if you are running late they will still give you keys if the office is closed just call ahead on your way back and let them know they will

It was so calming and relaxing and it was as if you were away on an island but you are real close to home
We used to full time here and enjoyed it. Everything north of Fox Ave is packed like sardines. We preferred the more private area at the south end of Overlook Road. Occasionally, there were family reunions staying in tents making noise but for the most part people were respectful of the area. It's very windy here especially in the winter time. The bridge traffic back and forth to the Base is very heavy and that's why we left.

We love Solomons Island! Have been here twice since 5/2016. This post is supposed to be about the pass office, but it's just a pass office. Competent folks, they are quick enough, that you won't have a long wait. But come to live or visit for a while, you will enjoy yourself. Nice small town, good restaurants nearby, and lots of shopping in St Mary's Co.
